A half-Siren with a bit of a rough past, Bridge Nocturne is both a selfless and selfish individual. He tends to keep people at a distance, but if you can manage to get past his walls then he'll always be there to look out for you.

Just don't call him a fish or a mermaid.

At first glance, Bridge would seem like quite an amiable individual. Though he can be sarcastic and a bit crass when it suits him, and at times have a rather dry sense of humor, for the most part many people will find him fairly pleasant. Something of a flirt, he has a captivating smile and is not above using it - and the rest of his looks - to his advantage. It's all pretty harmless, though; his charm, as well as his words and music, are mostly meant to make people smile. And with a calm and easygoing demeanor, and holding a certain air of mystery about him, it's easy to expect Bridge to be the type of cool and confident person one might expect of a musician whose life was onstage.

And he certainly was, at least on the surface. But Bridge is also quite a performer, and he's used to putting on a show for people.

In truth, there are a lot of conflicting aspects about Bridge. While he can be mysterious at times, it is largely to keep most people at a safe distance. So used to doing things on his own, and not wanting to risk being hurt as he had been in the past, he's excelled at keeping to himself for the most part. The world taught him to take care of himself because no one else would, causing him to close himself off to others at times.

Bridge can also be selfish at times; while his desire to say and do things so that people will be happy and enjoy themselves, to lift up people's spirts, is geniune, it can occasionally serve to satisfy his own needs. As a Siren who drains people's energy, he finds that he prefers to consme positive emotions than negative ones. So the music he writes and performs, and the ways he tries to please people, can and occasionally has been for his own benefit.

Even more than that, however, is Bridge's longing to just be wanted. Despite the lengths he can go to maintain his privacy, he still fears being truly alone; that growing up abandoned and unwanted was just a foreshadowing of how the rest of his life would ultimately be. Part of the reason he performs on stage is to show people just what he can do, and to spread his name so that people will know who he is. It's not just a desire to be famous, but a hope that, once they've learned of him, they will remember him, and want more of him. That his name will mean something to someone.

Because despite the experiences that have hardened him over the years, there is still a part of him that yearns for acceptance. And it is this part of him that continues to hold onto the good heart that he ultimately has. Even though he will absorb people's energy when he has to, he generally uses it as a last resort when he has no alternatives to sustain himself. And even then, he does his best to take only what he needs without hurting others; bringing people's energy up with his music, exciting them, means that they will have excess energy for him to skim without it being dangerous. And he'll keep people at arms' length, because he fears hurting them if ever he loses control of his Siren instincts.

But those who manage to slip past the walls he has put up will find a deeply caring companion in Bridge. It is still something he is getting used to, but he can't deny the satisfying feeling of having people who he cares about, and how it feels to be cared about by others. And while he still has a lot to learn, he is starting to realize the lengths that he is willing to go for the people he cares for to look out for them, and keep them safe and happy. He will do whatever he can to help them, and while part of that still scares him - that having people so close will only hurt him once again - the effect they have on his life is immeasurable, inspiring him in new and brighter ways that he never imagined possible.
